Meet Timothy Apedaile, Lycée Louis Pasteur alum (2004) and McGill graduate. He is currently employed as a bilingual lawyer for the National Bank in Montréal.

Timothy (Tim) graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Political Science, a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.), and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). He is the recipient of the French Ministry of Education’s Diplôme National du Brevet des Collèges.

Tim appreciates the high academic standards and the small classes at the Lycée, as well as having the same teachers throughout his junior high/collège years: “the relationships we made with our teachers really developed over the years – it was always very clear that they were genuinely invested in our success. Being a part of such tight-knit community was very special – especially as a French school in anglophone Alberta”.

Tim was well prepared to excel in high school. His strong language skills allowed him to challenge advanced French and Spanish courses, which later gave him leverage when applying to universities. Tim explains, “the fact that I spoke French made the decision to apply and attend McGill easier. This was certainly the case for law school, which was a full schedule of bilingual courses and readings”.

Tim recalls some of his favourite teachers and subjects: French with Mme Psyché, English with Ms. Boblin, Biology with Mme Chouinard and Spanish with Señora Libre.

Tim’s favourite moments at the Lycée include Camp Chief Hector in Grade 5, the science field trip to Kananaskis U of C Research Centre, and most notably, the class trip to France in Grade 9.

Tim has very fond memories of his time at the Lycée, he says “I made some of my best friends there. I will always have the Lycée as a shared experience with them”.
