Thanks to our partnership with Canada Homestay Network, a non-profit organization that specializes in matching students and host families, students can spend one trimester, two trimesters or an entire school year at Lycée international de Calgary.
Students are placed with an English-speaking host family, allowing them to improve their English language skills while experiencing Canadian culture firsthand.
The fees outlined above include room and board, tuition fees and all school supplies.
Every student placed with a host family is treated as a member of the family. Host families will invite students to take part in regular family activities such as visits to the local park, a trip to the cinema, dining out and family get-togethers and celebrations (i.e. Thanksgiving).
Please be assured that host families are screened for compatibility and safety to ensure the best match between each student and the family assigned to them. The activities of normal, everyday life are discussed with the family prior to confirming a place for the student.
A Lycée Calgary student can be paired with an exchange student from a partner Lycée. Both students attend one school at the same time for one trimester and spend the other trimester in the other school. You will still pay your tuition at our Lycée and only have to cover the extra cost abroad (i.e. flights, extra-curricular activities, trips, sightseeing etc).
Students who have attended this program receive firsthand diversity and cross-cultural understanding overseas and expand their knowledge of the culture and language of the hosted student and family abroad.
Who can apply as an exchange student?
Students from Lycée Calgary in Grade 10 who have a strong academic level and a desire to study abroad.
French or international students generally in Grade 10, coming from a Lycée and demonstrating strong academic standing.
The ADN-AEFE Exchange Program, launched in 2017-2018, allows Grade 10 students to follow their schooling for a few weeks at another school in the network, in a different country of their choosing.
This system allows students to immerse themselves in a different culture, family environment and high school while following the same school program!
