International Program – Calgary Residents

Lycée Louis Pasteur belongs to the prestigious AEFE network of over 500 schools in 137 countries who all teach the French Ministry of Education curriculum.
Lycée students can enjoy a trimester or a year abroad in AEFE schools around the globe with zero interruption in their course of study. Students in Grade 9 and above are eligible and encouraged to participate in this amazing opportunity.

Arriving: Lycée International Program with the Canada Homestay Network

Every year, we welcome students from lycées’ around the world. International students are part of what makes Lycée Louis Pasteur a truly multicultural school. The International Program is designed for students entering grades 9 to 12 (3ème a la Terminale).

Lycée International Program Tuition Fees

The International Program that we offer is for one full school year (September to June) or per trimester. Please see below for our fee guide (this includes room and board with a host family):

Application

International Program Application Process

To start the application process, complete the application form and the linguistic Profile and email it to [email protected]. The application must include a copy of the student’s report cards, a teacher’s recommendation letter, a copy of the passport and an application fee of 175 €.

Host Families

Thanks to our partnership with Canada Homestay Network, a non-profit organization that specializes in matching students and host families, students can spend one trimester, two trimesters or an entire school year at Lycée Louis Pasteur.

Students are placed with an English-speaking host family, allowing them to improve his/her English language skills while experiencing Canadian culture firsthand.

The fees outlined above include room and board, tuition fees and all school supplies.
Every student placed with a host family is treated as one of the family. Host families will invite students to take part in regular family activities such as a visit to the local park, a trip to the cinema, dining out and family get-togethers and celebrations (i.e. Thanksgiving).

Please be assured that host families are screened for compatibility to ensure the best match between each student and the family assigned to them. The activities of normal, everyday life are discussed with the family prior to confirming a place for the student.

Departing: Lycée Exchange program
(from Lycée to Lycée)

A Lycée Louis Pasteur (LLP) student can be paired with an exchange student from a partner Lycée. Both students attend one school at the same time for one trimester and spend the other trimester in the other school. You will still pay your tuition at LLP and only have to cover the extra cost abroad (i.e. flights, extracurricular activities, trips, sightseeing etc). Students who have attended this program experience diversity and cross-cultural understanding in their own home and overseas and expand their knowledge of the culture and language of the hosted student and family abroad.

Eligibility

Who can apply as an exchange student?

Students from the Lycée Louis Pasteur in grade 10 who have a strong academic level and a desire to study abroad.
French or international students generally in grade 10, coming from a lycée and demonstrating strong academic standing.

Departing: AEFE-ADN Exchange Program

The ADN-AEFE exchange programme, launched in 2017-2018, allows Grade 10 students to follow their schooling for a few weeks at another school in the network, in a different country.

This system allows students to immerse themselves in a different culture, family environment and high school while following the same school program!
