International Program

If you are a high school student from France or another AEFE school, the Lycée international de Calgary has a program for you. We are one of the very few schools in the network with a homestay program to continue your French studies, stay with a Canadian host family and work on your English. We believe that studying abroad is often a defining moment that positively and unequivocally influences a student’s career path and future.

Welcoming the World: Our Host Program

Every year, our school community is enriched by welcoming students from Lycées around the globe. This is a critical component of what makes Lycée Calgary a truly multicultural school.

  • International Students: We host students primarily entering Grades 9 through 12, offering flexible stay options (September to December, January to June or full year).
  • Cultural Immersion: Through a partnership with the Canada Homestay Network, arriving international students are placed with vetted, English-speaking host families. This placement allows the visiting students to improve their English language skills while fully experiencing Canadian culture and being treated as a valued member of the family.
  • Community Enrichment: The presence of international students broadens the perspective of our Calgary-resident students, deepening the cultural understanding and intercultural competence within our own classrooms.

Lycée Calgary’s International Program Tuition Fees

The international program offers flexible options: grades 9-10 (3eme and seconde) can attend from September to December, January to June or the full school year, while grades 11-12 are full-year only. Fees cover tuition and host family stay, providing students with an immersive cultural and educational experience

HOST FAMILIES

Thanks to our partnership with Canada Homestay Network, a non-profit organization that specializes in matching students and host families, students can spend one trimester, two trimesters or an entire school year at Lycée international de Calgary.

Students are placed with an English-speaking host family, allowing them to improve their English language skills while experiencing Canadian culture firsthand.

The fees outlined above include room and board, tuition fees and all school supplies.

Every student placed with a host family is treated as a member of the family. Host families will invite students to take part in regular family activities such as visits to the local park, a trip to the cinema, dining out and family get-togethers and celebrations (i.e. Thanksgiving).

Please be assured that host families are screened for compatibility and safety to ensure the best match between each student and the family assigned to them. The activities of normal, everyday life are discussed with the family prior to confirming a place for the student.
