Professeur(e) des Écoles (Petite Section de Maternelle au CM2)

Le Lycée Louis Pasteur de Calgary cherche un Professeur(e) des Écoles (Petite Section de Maternelle au CM2). Plusieurs postes vacants ou susceptibles de l’être sont à pourvoir pour la rentrée 2019-2020. Contrat local à temps plein (27h/semaine face aux élèves, 35h/semaine avec préparations et réunions). Sous la direction du/de la Directeur/trice du Primaire, le/la Professeur(e) des Écoles prépare et enseigne aux élèves en français les différentes matières de l’école primaire, conformément aux programmes et instructions du Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale français. Le/la Professeur(e) des Écoles travaille en étroite collaboration avec les autres enseignant(e)s et avec l’administration. Le/la Professeur(e) des Écoles est évalué(e) de façon continue par le/la Directeur/trice du Primaire et suit une formation continue élaborée en consultation avec ce(tte) dernier(e) et avec le/la Proviseur(e). Le/la Professeur(e) des Écoles joue un rôle essentiel dans la mise en œuvre de la mission, de la vision, de la philosophie et des valeurs du Lycée Louis Pasteur.

Les responsabilités du/de la Professeur(e) des Écoles enseignant au primaire sont les suivantes :

  • Préparer les séquences d’apprentissage et le matériel nécessaire.
  • Enseigner en français aux élèves conformément aux programmes du Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale français.
  • Enseigner en français aux élèves conformément aux programmes du Ministère de l’Éducation de l’Alberta.
  • Individualiser son enseignement afin de l’adapter aux besoins de chaque élève.
  • Maintenir un climat et une dynamique de classe propices aux apprentissages dans le respect de chacun.
  • Évaluer les élèves régulièrement.
  • Promouvoir les programmes du Lycée au sein de l’établissement et dans la communauté.
  • Choisir les manuels et le matériel éducatif nécessaires ; maintenir un inventaire.
  • Surveiller les élèves en dehors de la classe.
  • Faire passer les examens du Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale français et du Ministère de l’Éducation de l’Alberta.
  • Assister aux réunions pédagogiques, aux conseils de maîtres et de cycle, ainsi qu’aux autres réunions.
  • Participer à des stages de formation et aux conférences des associations locales et nationales.
  • Travailler en équipe et proposer des formations aux collègues.
  • Participer à la vie du Lycée (événements, concerts, kermesse…).
  • Suivre les cours de français/anglais proposés au sein du lycée.
  • Animer des clubs ou des activités extrascolaires si nécessaire.

Compétences et expérience :

  • Avoir une excellente maîtrise de la gestion de classe.
  • Adhérer et être sensible à la philosophie et aux objectifs du Lycée Louis Pasteur.
  • Posséder une expérience significative de l’enseignement des programmes français établis par le Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale (3 ans minimum).
  • Parler couramment le français et l’anglais.
  • Autres exigences :
  • Être titulaire de l’Éducation Nationale française ou posséder un Diplôme d’enseignement du Ministère de l’Éducation d’une province canadienne.
  • Certificat de premiers secours.
  • Extrait de casier judiciaire récent.

Compensation et avantages :

  • Le salaire sera déterminé en fonction de l’expérience entre $58 800 $ et 87 700 $.
  • Couverture santé complémentaire (prescriptions médicales, services paramédicaux, autres services et équipements médicaux), dentaire et handicap.
  • Contribution à un plan de retraite complémentaire.

Substitute Daycare Assistant

Founded in 1966, the Lycée Louis Pasteur is a non-denominational private French school. It is the only pre K to Grade 12 school in Western Canada both accredited by the French Ministry of Education and Alberta Education.

Reporting to the Child Care Coordinator, the Daycare Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maternelle teacher with the teaching, preparing and delivering subject matter to students at the Lycée. The Daycare Assistant will liaise with Maternelle teachers, coordinators and administration as necessary. Daycare Assistants have a critical role in executing the mission, vision and philosophies of Lycée Louis Pasteur.

The duties of the Daycare Assistants include but are not limited to:.

  • Assist the homeroom teacher with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom organization;
  • Supervise 3 to 5 year-old students during class, before and afterschool programs, recess and class transition;
  • Attend faculty, instructional leaders and school meetings.
  • Attend and participates in professional development;
  • Present professional development for teachers and staff;
  • Serve on curriculum and standards committee;
  • Engage in collaboration with teachers and staff;
  • Engage in the events of the community;
  • Participate in onsite or offsite French lessons as required and requested.

Required skills:

  • Strong classroom management skill;

The duties of the Elementary teacher include but are not limited to:

  • Individualize instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student;

  • Select and requisition books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records;

Reporting to the Head of School, the Maternelle teacher is responsible for teaching, preparing and delivering subject matter to students at the Lycée. The Maternelle teacher will liaise with primary teachers, coordinators and administration as necessary. Teachers have a critical role in executing the mission, vision and philosophies of Lycée Louis Pasteur.

The duties of the Maternelle teacher include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and discuss educational program with administrators;
  • Follow the regulations in respect of Licensing, Accreditation and other Child Care Claims from Alberta Human Services;
  • Teach to students in accordance with Alberta Education standards (5YO program only);
  • Teach to students in accordance with The Minister of French Education standards;
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials;
  • Individualize instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student;
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behaviours needed to achieve a functional learning environment in the classrooms;
  • Evaluate students on an ongoing basis;
  • Take a leadership role in promoting the curriculum in school and throughout the community;
  • Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records;
  • Supervise students out of classroom as required;
  • Administrator standardized Alberta Education testing and Ministry of France testing;

The PE teacher will liaise with secondary and primary teachers, coordinators and administration as necessary. Teachers have a critical role in executing the mission, vision and philosophies of Lycée Louis Pasteur.

The duties of the PE teacher include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and discuss educational program with administrators;
  • Teach to students Physical Education in accordance with Alberta Education standards;
  • Teach to students Physical Education in accordance with The Minister of French Education standards;
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials;
  • Individualize instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student;
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behaviours needed to achieve a functional learning environment in the classrooms;
  • Evaluate students on an ongoing basis;
  • Take a leadership role in promoting the curriculum in school and throughout the community;
  • Selects and requisitions physical education equipment; maintains required inventory records;
  • Supervise students out of classroom as required;
  • Administrator standardized Alberta Education testing and Ministry of France testing;
  • Serve on curriculum and standards committee;
  • Attend faculty, instructional leaders and school meetings;
  • Attend and participates in provincial and national associations and conferences;
  • Present professional development for teachers and staff;
  • Engage in collaboration with teachers and staff;
  • Engage in the events of the community;
  • Participate in onsite or offsite English lessons as required and requested;
  • Lead an extracurricular activity as required (basketball and soccer for example);
  • Act as a homeroom teacher upon request.
